Day 5 Mt Surprise to Georgetown 95 kms

Everyone was asked to wait until after sunrise today as it was a short day, maybe with some hills, but we didn't need to get into town too early as not alot to do in Georgetown. Usually the riders don't take much notice of this request but today they did and no-one left before sunrise- it was a much more normal day.
We were early leaving camp for morning tea as we packed up pretty quickly today for some reason. But lucky we were early as there had been a small collison between Pat & Robbo and Pat needed a bit of medical attention to a couple of small wounds. All is well and she was able to continue riding the rest of the day. But after this we then found a small lizard in one of the riders water bottles after filling it from the car tank, we weren't sure where it had come from so we emptied the tank as a precaution. We had another 25 litres of water on the side of the trailer. John spotted the car tank draining as we drove past but didn't appear fazed at all.

Chocolate balls for morning tea today with half of them having peanut butter added to them. Homemade by moi with some expert assistance from my apprentice Annie, and enjoyed by all.

We were in Georgetown before lunch time and everyone got to do a bit of food shopping and check out the town. Quite a few went down to the local swimming pool for a swim and most went down the pub for dinner. Collis & I took a cabin tonight as he is getting sore ribs and shoulder from always sleeping in the back of the truck.
Small issue at the caravan park wanting to charge us $20.00 a head for unpowered sites when it was quoted $5.00 to $10.00/head. We have never had to pay $20/head for unpowered site ever before.
