Day 11 Burke & Wills to Terry Smith Lookout 100 kms

Woke at 4.45 am and sat up to see if any lights were moving around camp. We couldn't see the large camping area but Robbo was camped across the road from us and there was rustling in the tent but no light. One of the backpackers working at the roadhouse walked past on his way to his day at work, the road workers were moving around their camp and the lights came on in the kitchen at about 5 am. 5.15 am Robbo emerges from his little cave, the workers make their way to the roadhouse and breakfast has started. Quite amazing to watch Robbo pack up in the pitch black. A dingo wanders through the camp, stops and looks straight at me in the dark and then saunters off, not fearing my presence at all.
The camp is awake and we all start emerging hoping to get the use of the toilet before everyone else. There is a bush camp tonight so it would be sensible for those who desperately want showers to have one before they leave today. The mood is a little low in part of the camp as 2 riders really are not thrilled about bush camping and seem to be grumbling to anyone who will listen. This is a real shame as some LOVE the bush camps and would have more if they could. The itinerary has been set and unless some unusual circumstance occurs, we will follow the itinerary.
A bit windy today but everyone managed quite well and most were in camp by 12.30 ready for lunch.
Vegetarian curry for dinner. Nice camp spot.
Robbo was presented with a bar mat to celebrate his completion of his personal journey around Australia.
